I don't wanna hear crap from you guys. It's a DAMNED fun car to drive, and I got the 2009 R3 version out the door for $24700 after taxes/fees/whatever. It was a decent price I thought and said screw it.

It feels sooooooo much better than the other RX-8's I tried and it is fully loaded with everything the R3 comes with, except for the satellite radio, which I never used in my GLi. lol, I even got bluetooth, Recaro Racing seats, R3 rims and has only 6900 miles. Also, it's not a push start, but you keep the key in your pocket.

Ah well, come on guys - start beating me up. :awe:

Damn, looks good man! How's it compare to the GLI speedwise? Also, wanna sell me/trade me the grille from your GLI? lol

Man, it doesn't have the torque the GLi has, but it definitely has a VERY nice acceleration to it. It's taking me more thinking to actually get it moving from a standstill though - but the clutch feels absolutely perfect.

The r3 version has a different gear ratio so the low end isn't as weak/and the gears feel taller. Doesn't seem to accelerate much faster than my GLi though. One mistake and my GLi would take it. Handling is awesome -- destroys any of the 1st gen RX8s I've driven and NO RATTLES. It's damned tight.

The GLi is a lease so I have to give it back with everything on it on the 29th. Going to suck since I damaged the car pretty badly in the last 2 months (broke paint, and I think need a windshield.) :(

I've always liked RX8's. I just wish they didn't even try with the back seats.

Now drive that yellow thing into a river.

Yeah, sounds about like what everybody's said. Ive ridden in a few RX-8s and they definitely feel pretty good.

Was your GLI a manual or a DSG? Enjoy it for the next week :D

I love the R3 rims. I was really close to getting one around the same mileage as yours, but I just couldn't deal with that mileage. If I didn't have to drive crazy amounts, I'm pretty sure I would have gotten one very similar to yours. Grats! now go have fun!

What do you mean couldn't deal with the mileage? Too low? Or are you talking about MPG? (AND HOLY CRAP - this things sucks gas...but I was expecting that.

Depreciation is awful. My friend has a fully loaded 04 GT model w/Navi in absolute mint condition, and they only offered him $8900...ugh.

I kinda really took into consideration that, since the car is discontinued, I don't have to worry about a newer RX-8 taking away the looks from this one. :) I really believe in a few years time, these cars will be highly sought after for being a cheap RWD car - kinda like how everyone gets AWD/RWD Eclipses from the 90s. Super cheap to buy, and a ton of fun. :)

true, they are fun. im tempted to buy up an older model just because of how cheap they are for a weekend car. i like how you are supposed to red line at least once while your driving. lol

edit: like this, http://orlando.craigslist.org/cto/1617917825.html
