I've been on this low carb diet for about a week. I've consumed quite a bit of diet pop and water I'm having to go to the bathroom like every hour, its amusing to say the least. So far the low carb diet has been great!

I find it amusing when a fat person walks into a restaurant and orders the entire menu only to top it off with a diet pepsi. As if the diet pepsi will help them lose weight along with the 10 lbs of food they just ordered.

I just started a all protien/carbs only post workout diet... but i haven't drank anything but water. If i'm gonna drink soda i want all the flavor! but i must resist for the summer because i wanna be cut eventually

Most diet soda's contain Aspartamine. Search for "aspartamine" on google. And then read all the horror stories of anything that contains it. My grandpa used to be a Diet Coke drinker for 25 years. Lately he's been having seizures and he never loses weight. He researched aspartamine, the sugar substitute in Diet Coke. Well sure enough he found out the symptoms and effects. He quit Diet Coke cold turkey and is never looking back.

It's called "Diet Rite Cola". You don't start eating sh*t loads of meat with tons of salt then top it off with sh*t loads of salt, which normal diet soda has huge amounts of. Diet Rite Cola is also aspertame/sodium(salt) free, but in all honesty you should lay off the soda, the acidity level it brings to the body is reason enough not to drink it. All I drink is water or diet right, keeps the weight way down, and after a year of doing so I feel any drink with sugar tastes like sh*t in comparison.

There's this kid I used to eat lunch with at school, he weighed damn near 400 pounds. Every day he'd bring a can of Slim Fast, drink it and go buy 5 pieces of pizza 😕

Yup Aspartamine is the crap in neutra-sweet. It has been linked to cancer in lab mice in large doses, it has NOT been linked to cancer in humans, but there have been no clinical trials proving or disproving prolonged uses effects on humans. Ill take the sugar.

Only Diet sodas I can drink are Diet Coke (from a restaurant, not from a can) and Diet Dr Pepper. Tried Diet Mtn Dew once and just about puked.

I'm lucky my mom sorta got me accustomed to just drinking either juices or water. Never really liked or got hooked on drinking sodas.

Stop calling it pop. It's all coke. No matter what it actually is, it's called coke. There's no pop, there's no soda. You damn yankees.

how can people stand any diet soda, they SUCK!!!! i'd rather drink less soda than drinking that diet sh!t

diet soda is better because regular soda is too damn sweet! shlt!

and the sugar leaves a bad taste in my mouth after a while

At a restaraunt, I've started getting just a water with lemon, and adding 2 sweet & lows to it. I dunno why, the sweet & low just makes it taste good. It's better and cheaper than pop, but I should probably switch to 2 sugar packets instead.

Everything leads to cancer nowadays. Everyone buys that processed junk 'cause it saves time and it's all cancer causing. Drinking all this pop isn't helping either. Not only does it ruin your teeth, but it ruins your health too. Once and a while is fine, but some people drink pop more than they drink water. That's insane.

Heh heh, when I visited family for a few months in West Virginia I could not get them to quit calling it pop! Last I checked, they're not Yankees 🙂 "Pop" isn't universally understood to mean carbonated beverage because it's not even nationally understood to mean that. No one in Georgia (The origin of Coca-Cola) calls is "pop" or "soda-pop" or "soda." I have seen some people who strangely call it all just "Coke." 😀 Pepsi didn't help back in '98 with their "Pepsi Pop-Culture" game. Nearly no one got the cola reference there.

When Penny Arcade mentioned "Sourdough Jack" in one of their comics (About the game Starfox Adventures being another "fetch quest") it took a stroke of unimaginative memory to understand that they were taking about fast-food and even then it was only after regional-effect enforcement recieved from visiting California a few times (I remembered the e-coli scare at Jack-In-the-Box). I would never make a regionally understood reference nationally if I were writing it so niether should they. I would never mention a Hardee's "Famous Star" or "All-Star Burger" and it doesn't help that Hardee's changes the sandwich names almost every year (They can't even decide if they're a chicken place or a burger place. Now I hear that they even call themselves "Carl's Jr" in come places). Also, I've heard numerous references to "In-n-Out Burger" all over the place when they are HIGHLY regional to California (ie, Hollywood). But then Fresh Prince mentioned "the Piggly Wiggly" (Better known as "Bruno's"). Obviously that writer was from 'round here 😉

Most people in The South (And West?) have no idea what someone means when they say "give me a pop" so I wouldn't use it. I'm sure soda is understood more universally. 🙂

I used to drink 5-6 cans of soda a day... then I remember waking up in my friend's basement with a pile of 15-20 Mt Dew cans scattered around me... with a splitting headache and blurry vision. I can never go back there.... I've drank maybe 1-2 cans of soda in the last 4 months... mostly water or powerade for me now...
