Soo.....appendecitis

I had that. I waited too long before seeking help. It burst. It really really hurt. Was in the hospital for 5 days. Then I took a month off work and played xbox.
 
I had appendicitis. Actually, my appendix would get inflamed every couple of months, and I'd have some pretty terrible stomach pain. I always attributed it to some sort of stomach flu. And the pain would go away within a day, and my stomach would feel sore the day after.

My appendix never burst, and this kept happening for quite some time. One time it got inflamed and it was really painful, so I went to the hospital that day around 6 PM. It was a friday I'm pretty sure.

Anyways, I waited for like 2 hours in the ER. They injected me with some tracer eventually, and did a CAT scan. My appendix was really inflamed, and I went in for surgery a bit past midnight I think. They removed it, and the surgeon told me there was some scarring actually since my appendix had become inflamed before in the past so many times.

Not too bad for le Canadian health care system.

Came back home Sunday evening, went to school Monday morning.
 
well, no appendicitis, unless it's atypical.

she said it could be onset of shingles, any number of GI issues, or possibly gallbladder. They took blood, and said if I don't get better by Saturday to call and schedule a sonogram for Monday.

localized pain in lower right abdominal region. feels more like a muscle strain or tear, kind of a burning pain. they asked me to come in just to rule out some things, but couldn't really rule anything out except hernia and most likely appendicitis unless something changes.
 
I got my appendix out summer of 05? One of the best experiences of my life! Woke up with some bad stomach cramps but they wouldn't go away so health services ended up sending me to the hospital. After a morphine+gravol injection it was pure bliss, got to nap/lay around and they wheeled me around everywhere. It was great, they washed me, even took care of my urine for me. I left around noon the next day.
 
apparently I also have a low platelet count and have for the past year at least, so now I get to go back in a month to re-test for that.
 
Had mine taken out in 2001, nice birthday gift to myself at 1 AM. Had to stay a week in the hospital, total bill, $15,000, with insurance only payed 10% of that.
