SONY WORLD PHOTOGRAPHY AWARDS

The inaugural Sony World Photography Awards will be held in Cannes, France between April 21 and 25. Top amateur honors have gone to Arup Ghosh of India. Professional shutterbugs nominated in 11 categories will find out in Cannes who has been named Photographer of the Year.

Ghosh studied medicine near his home north of Calcutta, and has been an avid amateur photographer since 2002.

wonder if he is related to my mom somehow. My mom's maiden name is Ghosh and our family's from calcutta. doubt it though. Ghosh is very common last name there
