I can't find it, but it's pretty old news (like a week... :confused: ).

Actually, Sony was never marketing the PS3 as a gaming machine, but more as the basis of your Home Entertainment System.

no kidding, any console with a network connection could run that stuff. toasty ps3's running 24/7 bloating your electric bill..oh how enticing. so its 600 dollars + giant electric bill for the ps3 yay

This could actually fit in the distributed computing forum, and even though Sony is just trying to grab some good publicity, at least the ps3 will be useful now :)

lolz, think about it though, with this kind of marketing for Folding@Home, they might actually find some cures (think how powerful the PS3's CPU is...and how many people will have them).

Thing is, who's going to want their expensive gaming system to be running its processor full-time? Electricity ain't free.
