Straight from their site:

What is reconditioned?
There are lots of things that can label items factory reconditioned or factory refurbished. Some are so frivolous, it's laughable. But because consumer laws prevent manufacturers from selling anything considered factory reconditioned as "new", the second consumer gets the best deal. Here are a few examples:

- Most major retail superstores offer a 30-day money back guarantee on their products and there are those consumers that just simply take advantage of that. These items are returned to the manufacturer, inspected and repackaged like new.

- Items where the box or casing was damaged in shipment which are returned to the manufacturer.

- The item was returned to the manufacturer because of a slight defect. The part that was defective was replaced by the manufacturer, tested and then repackaged just like new.

- The item was returned because of a minor cosmetic blemish on the casing that was corrected.

- Demonstration units are also considered factory reconditioned. These units are inspected, tested and repackaged.

- The box was simply opened. That's it!

- Brand new overstocked items are also labeled factory reconditioned.

It is impossible to know the history of each item, but for whatever reason the unit gets labeled factory reconditioned it is inspected & serviced by the manufacturer then tested and repackaged to meet original product specifications. All merchandise is warranted by the original manufacturer unless otherwise specified.

Refurbs save cash!
Why hesitate getting the best value by getting the exact same equipment at a much lower price:

- If you couldn't afford that expensive item till now? NOW you can with a factory reconditioned! And still get the same performance. - reconditioned items have a much lower defect rate. From 10 units that come back for repair only 1 is usually a factory reconditioned, because reconditioned units are tested twice before they are sold.

Bottom line, if all the benefits of buying a reconditioned product are the same as a buying new, the only "drawback" you would notice is probably a little label on the outside of the box or simply a brown box.

New for $1213 from ebuyer here, includes 1 year warranty, and free logitech mouse

i think i would rather pay another $100 or so for the full warranty

but at the moment nothing can beat dell for the great deals they are offering with the $650 off coupon codes

I'm pretty sure this dude works for this crappy website. Not only is it a refurb, not only can you buy a new one for $80 more with a free mouse and a real warranty (which many credit card companies will double-but only on NEW items), but it's not even a friggin' hot deal. If you're gonna spam your website what the hell makes you think that a hot deals website filled with cheap bastards like myself would ever buy your ripped off POS refurbed laptops?

Spam us with the same refurbed laptop for $299 and maybe we'll think about it.
