SONY TV electrical problem

my sony trinitron tv wouldn't turn on this morning, all we would see are the red flashing beep codes on the standby light. we've seen 4 beeps, 6 beeps, and 7 beeps.

the tv has been connected to a surge protector since day one... =

what can i do now? i dont think the tv's in warranty

You should be able to find those "blink codes" online or inquire about them on one of the home theater sites.

i've looked up the beep codes from here: http://members.aol.com/philselectronics/sonyblink.htm

and they say:
FOUR Blinks---No Vert. Deflection (V STOP), Screen goes to a single horizontal line then the video signal muted. Check IC1509, Q1505

SIX Blinks---No Horizontal (H STOP), no raster, goes to the blinking self-diagnosis function immediately. Check C515 & 516 and the jungle IC, IC206.

SEVEN Blinks---High voltage shutdown. The high voltage has exceeded 33k and the unit goes immediately into safety shutdown. Check power supply regulation and horizontal circuits.

don't really know aht 4 + 6 mean but 7 looks to be some kind of electrical problem on the inside...

is there anything i can do? currently i have the tv unplugged from the wall

Check your voltage at your outlet with a decent digital multi meter. Anything over 127 volts is getting a bit high.
The solution to this would be a good UPS with voltage regulation, the surge strip won't do much good with slightly high voltages, only with large spikes in voltage.
Not sure about the internal power regulation, but the first thing I would check is the external power, very simple.

Process of elimination
