No sound from TV but sound from radio.

Does the tv have sound if you unplug it from the receiver? If it does, are you using HDMI? Are you plugged into the ARC port on both the tv & the 710?

Have sound from TV at all times. HDMI plugged in TV to Receiver.

Yes. It's a Samsung Smart TV and AI am plugged into the HDMI port on the TV and the 710.

I had this receiver hooked up to a different TV before and it did work.

You didn’t say if you were plugged into the ARC hdmi port.

Sorry I guess I am not that into electronics as I shoyld be but I do believe that it is plugged into the proper HDMI port. There are only two HDMI ports on the TV and it is plugged into the one that is labeled HDMI IN 1 (STB).

Are you plugged into the ARC port on the Sony? If so pick a different one.

The TV sound should go off when the receiver comes up. Check that receiver selection to see if there are any sub-menus. Some receivers share a port and a sub-menu gets you where you need to go.
