Sony PSP sells out in Japan

Nintendo's DS is also selling like hotcakes. Should be an interesting time in the hand held market next year

I've been a faithful Nintendo fan my whole life, with the exception of Dreamcast I've never owned a non-Nintendo console, and with the exception of the GBA series, i've owned every Nintendo console. However, I'm not too sure about the DS. I think the PSP is a superior product, depending on how annoying the lack of battery life is.

Im eager to try out both. I have played around a bit with the DS and was very impressed with it. Also 15 hours of battery >>> 2-6 possible hours with the PSP. Id get pissed if I had to charge the PSP every 2 hours.

I don't think it is going to have a Japanese release until late January... otherwise it'd already be all over the internet. The NA release was pushed back until the summer or so... that sucks 🙁

now the question is the amount of games available for it, and the quality of those games

I'm still uncertain about the PSP. It has my interest enough to keep me from buying a DS, but I am still leaning towards DS. The Tiger Woods game is going to be sweet on the DS.

So far the DS seems to impress me more, with lots of nice features and a sweet gaming lineup so far(Mario 64DS, Mari Kart, Metroid Prime Hunters ect...)

Just imagine a Mario Party via wireless, or better yet, a super smash bros. via wireless 😎

The DS has a very crappy game selection right now. Hardly any good games are out for it. The P2P looks amazing. How many games are going to be released when it comes out?

A good Tiger Woods game might have sold the DS to me. However, after seeing a bunch of video of Tiger running on the DS, I choose to pass. Madden is said to be horrible as well on the DS which was another deciding factor.

I'll get the PSP. I'll get a carrying case with some extra room in it for the 2 extra batteries.

Why not get an extra long extension cord for the charger while your at it?

6 games for launch with the PSP... the DS has the whole library of GameBoy advance games plus the ones that came out on launch for the DS.

Anyone know if this will work with a PSP for playing videos? I found a cable that can connect these two here. If it does work, I think I'll get a PSP. 🙂

I can't wait to get my hands on one personally 😀

GT4m with a few people anyone? 😀

I love gaming with real people but sadly some of my mates suck at the games I play (TTT, T4, SF series, GT3 etc).

Hope Sony get their brains in gear and start making more of them so I can order one! SO SHOULD HAVE PRE-ORDERED ONE!
WHY OH WHY did I not? Because the launch games weren't that great 😛

Koing

Now Sony needs to be getting the PS2 and/or PSTwo shipped to the states since they've been utterly ignoring the entire holiday buying rush on them because they've been too busy shuffling the PSPs around Japan. I have PS2 games and no PS2 to play them on. Ingenius strategy on the part of Sony.
