Sony PSP Preorder

I don't think anyone is going to make a profit on this thing on eBay. There are already 400 PSPs on there.

Especially with retailers selling bundles only, at $350+. ToysRUs will do the bundle thing too, just like they did with the NDS and PSTwo.

I think you can pre-order the system itself, without the bundle, at a blockbuster game rush store. I'm going to go find out when I go to work tonight, as it would be nice to get one reserved for myself when supply grinds to a halt after its release.

and they aren't doing a very good job of stopping item sales: ebay

All gaming hardware is purchased by stores at cost or nearly at cost, meaning they make no profit (or in fact may take a loss) on the item once you calculate transaction costs and such. That's why they bundle items, warranties, etc. These help increase profits.

Yes, drop down to your local gamestop or EB.

I dont know about EB, but at gamestop I was able to throw down $50 to reserve one. It was fully refundable at any time too.

This was before EB and Gamestop announced their bundles, now it might be only bundles for preorder.

I'll be waiting for the PSP by itself. There's no way in hell i'm gonna let anybody MAKE ME buy something I dont want. And besides, bundle type deals are never deals, theyr'e always rip-offs.

Yikes! Instead of dropping $400 on this, I think I'll just get a GBA movie player for my SP to give it a little of the same functionality as a PSP (the big difference being, obviously, games).

And I, like others here, have never been a big fan of bundles.

They like to think they do. Check thier forums, they've canceled some legit auctions.

Basically to cancel an auction on ebay you just have tell them you think its bad. Most of the time they dont bother to investigate. I got an MS windows auction canceled before. It was legit too.

I was at Blockbuster/GameRush at lunch. I was able to preorder one for $50 down. While the sales drone was away I snatched the corporate fax printout that was on the desk. According to it they are only allocating 5 units per store and are only allowed to take pre-orders for those 5. So hurry up if you want one. This preorder thing only started a couple days ago. Price was obviously $249. You can preorder max 2 per BB account. I wasn't greedy and just ordered one. 🙂

Atleast with all these competitors to EB springing up we can have some competition.
