Sony PC driver support help, PLEASE, I BEG OF YOU!!!

I have a customers PC which is a Sony PCV-R553DS. This is the model number listed on both the front and bottom of this peice of crap Vaio Desktop.

Now, when I go here and enter PCV-R553DS It leads me to this.

Now one would think "What's the problem, you got what you're looking for.". No, I don't!!! ARGHHHH! None of these F'ing drivers work for the PCV-R553DS!!!! Every last one I download and try to install gives me a "Drivers not for this model number" BS message!

Now, here's what I've been told. Someone says that Sony actually has a system where you actually have to cross reference your model number (PCV-R553DS in this case) on some mystical document that gives you your true model number, supposedly something entirely different than what's etched ON THE FVCKING MACHINE!!!

I need drivers for the modem, the firewire card, and the sound. Before you say "Just look them up individually and download them." I tried that, and it's not lookin' too good that way either.

Please ATGH, you're my last hope!

What OS? It originally had Win98, yes?

Have you tried the migration drivers as well as the updates if it has XP on it now?

I don't think there is anything mysterious about the drivers. You are on the right page.

Windows 98. For some reason the model number I enter on Sony's support site leads me to that page w/ XP drivers.

The thing is this PC doesn't have, and never has had XP on it.

So where are the actual drivers on their site for this model??

Apparently Sony ran some sort of promotion to upgrade the VAIO desktops to XP.

It looks like they have stopped supporting Win98. You will have to get the original CD's from the owner, I guess.

You may have to find out who made the modem, the FW card and the sound card or chip and get Win98 drivers direct.

Thanks LTC8K6, I really appreciate it. As far as original CD's, the customer has no clue where they are.

The modem is a GVC F-1156IV A3. The only file I've found remotely close to this is for an IBM, and even forcing the driver doesn't seem to make it work on this PC.

The info on the firewire card is:

I-Link El Camino 2000 That's all I have on that one.

The sound seems to be a Yamaha chipset, I'll go research that one now.

Any further info is GREATLY appreciated!
