For people who might not be aware, this is a PLAYER. NOT a recorder. You'll need to have a recorder put music onto the discs first.

IMO this is just insane. $320.00 for a MD player when you can buy HDD based MP3 player with ~30x capacity for less. Just my $.02

This model was made as the 10th anniversary product of Sony's minidisc product divison. It was made with elegance and if you look at the screenshots, it's a work of art. Hence why it's so expensive yet lacking many features. There's another thread with this deal somewhere here.

To have the "Sony" name on a player is worth $200 alone.

This deal died the very same day. I probably got in at the last minute before amazon pulled it off. I ordered one with next day shipping, just to make sure I get one. Just received it yesterday (with next day shipping). I trying to get the $20 next day shipping charges refunded as I received it after 7 days.

Technically they do have a point. Next day, meaning I receive it the very next day after they ship. But at the time I placed the order the website said ships in 24 hrs.

Haven't got to opening it yet.

Apparently the deal is dead, but yes you need a MD recorder in order to put audio onto a MD disc. Some MD walkman are players AND recorders. This specific one is not.
