This would have potentially been useful for me if it had digital outputs on it, but unfortunately it only has analog out. I have some old MD recordings that I'd like to convert to CD, but want to make sure it's a complete digital transfer. I do have an old deck with optical digital outputs on it, but it has been having some mechanical issues.

It might be a long shot, but maybe the mechanisms are identical. Maybe you can do a "transplant". It costs only $25 to try.

Ordered one. I have about 50 MDs sitting around and a portable so maybe I'll start using them again. J&R and Crutchfield are still selling new one of these for $149+.

It has optical in, but not optical out. OOS now anyway.

This turned out to be a very nice deal. A new condition unit with all the extras including optical and two RCA cables delivered in 3 days for $26 (had to pay tax)! Lot of stars for OP.

If anyone bought this unit you can put a optical out connection to the unit for very little bucks (like < $5) and bit of scary soldering. You need to register to the discussion group to see the pix of the project.
