I'm new to this part of the forums but I can't seem to find any information online so I thought maybe the bright minds of Anandtech would be able to help me out :)

I am getting the 5 blinks on the standby light and I am wondering what possibly could be the issue (I know that it is an internal circuit board issue) and what would be the estimated cost for repair?

5 Blinks is abnormal voltage in power supply. More than likely 2 caps in the power supply secondary. If you are good with a solder gun you could fix it yourself.

Yep, if this TV is out of warranty pull the rear cover and a look around. Blown caps are not that big of a deal to replace.

I took off the back cover and there were no blown capacitors luckily!

I replugged in all the Ribbon cables / cables and my TV started working again! Thanks for the help though guys! Appreciate it!

Cool. Here's to Sony. I've got an old Bravia, their first 1080p one, that's still going strong. They can last longer than most think.

Apparently, the issue was not fixed :( Malfunctioning mainboard, 500$ to replace.
