SONY jumps head first into phablet: Massive phone coming June 25

That's a big screen, lots of pixels, and a fast processor to power on a 3000mAh battery. Doesn't sound promising unless they have some magic no one else has.

That's what I was thinking. 3000mAh seems pretty meager for those specs.
 
Wow. At first, I was like "Go SONY. Do it! Do it! Do it!"
Now that they've done it I'm "Wow. They did it. They've actually done it!!! Crazy. It's almost too big."

I have never seen anyone with a Galaxy Note put the thing to their head. But I never see those bluetooth headsets anymore either. I'd hate to see someone having a serious phone conversation with this thing. SONY has given me what I asked for but I'm not even sure I want it...
 
Yes, that is definitely too big. People kept wondering where the line was going to be drawn with these phablets and Sony went over it. Now it's time to backtrack and find the sweetspot. Maybe I'm wrong but this thing looks like a failure.

Also, that big and only a 3000mAh battery?

I don't think it'll fail. Some people want phablets. But I think one of 2 things will start to happen:

1) This will be the limit of "phones"

2) All tablets will start coming with phone capability, completely eliminating what a "phone" is.
 
This phone is stupid big and wont have a market.I honestly don't think anyone would buy it because of its massive size.I cant imagine trying to put this in my pocket and going out and about with it.

the gs4 size is right at the very limit for me and hope the next galaxy uses another 5in screen but shrinks the top and bottom bezel on it.
 
I wouldn't want to put anything bigger than my iPhone 5 in my pocket, but I can see plenty of women with handbags buying into this.

I just hope to god they use a BT set, and don't actually put it to their face.
