imo the good thing about this is its calling a LOT of attention to security (and the false sense of it that we have). hopefully companies and organizations will beef up and check their security systems. as "Bad" as this stuff is, its nothing to what it could be.

of course companies that focus on security products and anti hacking technology are probably having a total field day right now (anyone in the industry??? Is business sky rocketing with all these recent hacks??)

Not any more than normal. Sadly many/most folks that work in IT security departments are completely clueless. A lot of places will do routine audit/scans but those wouldn't pick up a SQL injection - that's all programming and input checks.
