Sony G410R refresh rate problem

I just bought this monitor and i cant get it to go over 60hertz..ive tryed changing the drivers and every settin it will not go above 60...anything above that is shaky...this monitor is rated work at 1600X1200 at 85hertz....im using the radeon 8500 64mb video card, i also tryed it on my geforce gst pro card and it did the same....is the monitor meesed up ? does anyone have this monitor?..please help..
 
I am waiting on a price from my Uncle (works at Sony) to see if he can get it for me cheaper than I can find it online... I'll have one in a couple weeks... but I can't help you now except for giving the thread a bump.

I have the monitor, and have not experienced anything like this? What OS are you using, and are you talking about in games or desktop?

You should be able to change the desktop settings without any problems. Btw, this monitor does not have any drivers! But this has not affected me, or anything I do, gaming etc?

For games I?m using RivaTuner to achieve all default refresh rates (1600x1200 @ 85MHz).

Hmm... are you using latest drivers for your 8500? This is odd.

Is your monitor set to plug & play?
