And what pc can you get for $600 that plays games full rez and all toys maxed
standard, and HD-DVD.Better start saving guys if you want a deal.Or buy the
lastest video card for $600,and feel like a dummy when the PS3 is all you really need.

360 is all i really need.

actually, wii is all i really need. 360 doesn't have any must-have exclusives yet. all the good games run fine on my pc.

i don't have a 1080p hdtv. there aren't any movies on blur ray. the $500 version doesn't have hdmi so if and when i do get an hdtv i couldn't watch any blur ray movies i happened to buy at the full resolution if i were to just get that. so i'd have to get the $600 version. or i could just get a 360 and whichever HD video format wins out in a couple years when it's actually worth upgrading from p-scan DVDs.

Did you even read my post?PS3 is $30 more +BLU-RAY.
Not to mention the new controller, its a deal face it .
1080p is for only tvs 42 and up,any lower doesnt make a difference say720p.
I have a 360+720P TV and when you see the video on the HDD wow!So the $500 version is all you need, unless yr uptight about HDMI.

The PS3 will play computer games? the PS3 will allow me to run Photoshop? What about Microsoft Office? You mean I can't even use Word?

So basically you're telling me that it'll only allow me to browse the web and watch movies. They seriously consider this to replace a PC? What about burning my music to disc. How do I back up my PC files?

Live is only $49 for a full year. Not sure where you're Sony Fanboi ass got 70.

Does the PS3 come with a keyboard and mouse?

Are you really that ignorant?

Oh man where to start ... aside from you are clueless.

1. If you compared the low end ps3, compare it to the low end 360 - $300 vs. $500
2. XBox Live is $50/yr ... not $70 you genius.
3. The $500 version of the PS3 can't play Blu-Ray at full HD resolution.
4. Let me know when you can run PC apps on your Linux PS3.
5. Let me know when your PS3 comes packed in with a DVD burner, a CD burner, a keyboard, and a mouse.

You can't just say "Oh the xbox360 + xbox live = the $500 ps3 + bluray" because what if some people don't want xbox live or the $400 version of the 360? Maybe they just want the core system and just want to play games on it? If that's the case, they only need to spend $300. For PS3 it would be $500 and you would get a half assed PS3 that is not even upgradeable to meet the $600 version of the PS3, whereas the $300 version of the 360 can be upgraded to be 100% identical to the $400 version.

Blu-Ray for games is way too much storage space anyways. I don't know if you've realized it, but the majority of cutscenes in games are now done with in game engines, which means they don't even need a crapload of space for CGI videos and stuff. 50Gb of space for a fvcking video game? Hell CGI is the reason I started to hate RPG's because I ended up watching games instead of playing them.

Blu-Ray for actual video game is way overkill at this point, 50Gb of space will NEVER EVER be used for a video game in the PS3's life ... mark my words for it. Hell not even 20Gb will ever be used on a PS3 game in it's life ... quote me on that too.

Please sir ... go get a clue.

I heard the PS3 slices and dices your fruits and veggies instantly.

Order now and we'll also throw in anything our imagination can think up that'll make complete and utter retards believe that our product is the best thing since that silly little Jesus guy turning water into wine. What a lightweight.

It's clear he knows nothing about the xbox 360. He's just a Sony fanboi who will say anything to make his argument that the PS3 is worth buying.

Sometimes it's just better to let idiots be idiots. They won't learn.

That's the bundle with the headset I believe. Live by itself is only $50 per year.

For every smart-minded AnandTech, there's another forum out there where people are eating the garbage that Sony is dishing out. And they think it's ice cream. With that neat chocolate topping that hardens.

No my bad HAHA PS3,i mean is it not a supercomputer with HDDVD?Sure you cant do this and that, but for $600 pc you wont be playing top games. And even if pc came with HDDVD,still need better CPU+GPU just to watch it right?

Neither HD-DVD or Blu-Ray makes anything a supercomputer. Those are simply means of storage.
