I honestly don't think that just having the games on Xbox 360 is enough. I know it's nice to focus on one year, but he said the same last year - 'We're going to win the holiday season.' But they didn't; they missed that opportunity.

I don't want to criticise them, but they can't say the same again. PlayStation 3, you will see, will be far and away the winner when you look at it by March '08. They really, really will. It's something that is going to be a slow burner, and suddenly it's like a tsunami; it will just overtake you.

He's talking about beating Microsoft in Europe (aka Sonyland) so it's entirely possible. There's only a couple million units behind there.

If Sony dropped the price 100 euros right now it might happen.

Instead, they'll miss their chance while MS still has redring 90s, and wait until after the 65nm Reliable Edition is out and possibly at a new low price.

It's because I couldn't think of a way to work "VFINX" into console threads

It's just the 360 I'm waiting to buy. My hope is that the 65nm version will not only have a 3% or lower failure rate , but will also include a non-scratching quiet DVD drive, HDMI, wifi, a larger hard drive, and will cure cancer. That's a little too long to use in every sentence so I use the Reliable Edition for short.

With most of the good games coming out for PS3 between now and spring of 2008, sales should jump up a good bit (that, and it depends on this whole 60GB/$499 issue and how long that price sticks). Enough to catch up to the 360? Maybe in some areas, but not worldwide. I'm not sure how it would go against the Wii.

I imagine that within a couple or few more years the PS3 will be in a much stronger position sales and games wise...perhaps on top, or very close.
