I have the one before the 505 (the 500), (got it cheap with a sony credit card deal (paid $65 for the reader)), it has a decent screen and can read pdf's, but Sony never released 64bit vista drivers (the 505 does work in vista 64 from what I know), so I would be somewhat hesitant to buy another Sony reader.

good... But I'll wait till these things fall to $100 or below. They really should cost less than they do.

all my pdfs are for 8.5x11.
what happens when u use this sony to open those? do you have to pan up and down and left and right to read?
this is tempting!

It has zooming capability (2 levels). Go to a nearest Sony or Frys to check it out. It's great eBook if for anyone who takes the train to work.

I have had this reader for a year or so.

The latest firmware for it fixed all of the PDF issues I was having. I simply plug in the usb cable, browse to the directory that holds books and copy pdf's to there. It displays my Cisco books and Cisco documentation great. I ended up copying all the documentation for the various products I support to it. It's a library in my backpack.

I have a few PRS500's and they work very well for reading books. The only bad thing is that reading comics stinks, it is difficult to read because the resolution isn't high enough to read a scaled down version. I want to try the PRS505 or some other readers, but trying to get my hands on one to figure out which is better is difficult.

Thats all I needed to know 😀 PDF support. I'll probably use the Sony Card deal instead and get it for 150$
