I'm sure everybody will shit on the name, but Wii was horrible when it was first announced and everybody got over it after a couple of days. I don't mind the Vita name at all.

I've never been big on handheld systems, but the Vita looks pretty slick. Wonder if they'll announce a price tonight.

As we all knew already, PSP2 is officially Vita.

They certainly pulled a Nintendo with that name. Remember back when the Wii was the "Revolution"? 😛

I might actually have to pre-order a Vita. The PSP was always plagued by weak dev support. Thankfully, Sony seems to be focusing on software this time. Big plus.

As for the 3D, I'm definitely not sold on it as the future of television and gaming. I've tried it in the stores and while impressive to a degree, I can't see it changing my viewing experience. It's still just a gimmick IMO.

Joystiq already reporting $249 for WiFi, $299 for 3G? Is this a scoop or did I miss them announce this?

If true, $249 is pretty good for what that is, especially considering that's the current price of the 3DS. Pricey, but I didn't expect any less.

Wow, saving to the cloud and then resuming on PS3. I would love to have the ability to play games on the go with Vita, and then load up my save on the big screen at home. That's just flat out awesome. I hope several titles take advantage of that.

What we've all wanted for so long.

Will the $299 one use a SIM card? If so, that'd be rather nice since I already have AT&T service and I could probably just swap my SIM card out 😉.

It was nice how they didn't waste our time showing off tons of multiplatform games and focused almost fully on exclusive stuff.

Also nice how that everything they showed off is playable on the floor too.
