Sony dvd observation, retail dvd movies ;)

I have been noticing that any recently that is a retail movie and the disc is stamped Sony the movies seem to be out of focus more then other studios and have a hell of alot of gain to the movies. I mean by grain is old time 70's 80's tvs that are not tuned in correctly or weak signal kind of grain. Kinda like a off air station but with a picture.

I just been noticing with the movies I been buying or renting that on my 65" there just is an abundance of grain with all recent Sony dvds that have been released. Anyone else noticing this? Only thing I can think of for this is they are making them look worse so when the Blu-ray comes out your sure to see one hell of a diff. Im not sure just looking to see if anyone else has noticed this mainly with Sony DVD's.

don't you rent movies from some kind of illegal chinese bootleg netflix-like service?

Can you give some examples of the movies you're talking about?

Have you cleaned your screen or the CRT's (i'm guess you have a CRT TV) lately?

The tv is new and just had it open fixing a plastic vibration problem and while in there cleaned the CRT's anyway fo rit was open.

One movie that comes to mind is because I just watched it is War of the Wolrd.
As always like when searching for music my brain is having a fart and cannot come with any other titles.

As for a bootleg rental place, um, no. I am subscribed to Ehits.com and to the best of my knowledge they dont rent bootleg copies. Everyone I have ever gotten from them has been actual dvds not copies and I have rented from them all and IMO they are the best.
