This camera is great. Bought one for my wife. Out of all the sub $400 cameras, this one had the fastest focus, and in good light, it takes a picture the instant you push the button, and shot to shot time is great also. As far ad the picture quality, ther is nothing to complain about . You could compare it with other 4 megapixel camera's and it would hold its own.

Good camera. Got it for $149 with 256mb memory card for GF for Christmas. Used it for various parties, etc. since. The flash on this thing will flood a room, the ani red-eye is great, and although it's only 4.1MP it makes up for it with a lack of visual noise and other artifacts like a lot of cameras in this price range have.

GOOD DEAL.

It does not have a decent Macro mode. If you are using it for an everyday camera, it should suit your purpose just fine. But if you are looking to take pics of anything close up, this isnt going to cut it.

Just picked this camera up for the wife/vehicle. It looks like a nice small point and shoot camera that my wife can use and/or just leave in the car.

Between this and say a Canon A410, which one is a better deal?

The A410 has 3.2MP, 3.2 optical zoom, and is $129 at Newegg. I tried out a Sony cam the other day, and while it produces nice image quality I found it to be a notch below my old A60 in color contrast and brightness.

I'd still be using my A60 if it weren't for my stupidity and having misplaced it somewhere.

For those interested it has a Carl Zeiss 3X optical zoom (32-96mm 35mm equiv).

I just wish it used CF or SD memory cards, they've gotten so cheap. Anyone know what prices are for name brand MemoryStick Pro's these days? Anywhere near what what you can get CF or SD cards for?

My neighbor got in on this deal ... the Sony Memory stick is on sale for $59 after $20 rebate for the 1GB ... I paid just a bit less than that for a 1GB SD card for Christmas for my son.

From the reviews (Canon A410, Sony S40), the Sony seems to have the edge over the Canon.

bump,

not bad for $99 out the door. very nice find because it's not even advertised either. they probably have to make room for something new coming out.

nice find.. picked one up
