Very good camera for the price.

$179 - $30IR - $50MIR = $99

I got the Canon A75 yesterday for $169.99, but I'm tempted to return it and pick this sucker up. The Canon has a nice feature where you can add on lenses, but the price is right here!

Although the price is an effective factor, Canon is far more superior to SONY A75 has much crispier image output. If the $$$ is important factor, go for SONY, but it has much lower quality.

I wouldn't go that far. I've had a sony digital camera for 2-3 years now (DSC-P9), and while yes comparable canon's do have a better picture quality in certain situations, i wouldn't go as far as to say that the Sony is significanly worse than the Canon. IMO not enough to justify almost twice the price.

The one thing the A-75 has that I loved is the ability to add on lenses and put in a weatherproof case. I just think it's a great possibility, and so it's worth the extra $60 or so.

(Incidentally, I think the A-75 is still available at OM for $199.99, and if you got a coupon in the mail, it drops to $169.99.)

Just purchased a p-72 from local Bbuy this morning. Shuffled over C.USA and grabbed a 256meg memory stick for $40(after $10 rebate). Ran them thru their still and movie mode paces. I'd say this is one sweet little camera for $100. The pics are nice and sharp and the camera sets up quickly. The quickview zooming and panning reminds me of what I love about my nikon coolpix 995. Having the coolpix and a canon d20, I do value manual control of exposure settings while this camera offers only basic adjustments. Durability? We'll have to wait and see.

You said "Shuffled over C.USA and grabbed a 256meg memory stick for $40"

Can you please provide me the link for the same?

Thanks,
