Sony does indeed have "plans" for UMD owners with the PSPGo

A potential PSP Go consumer could purchase used UMD games now, then do the "upgrade to digital" from Sony when they make it available. It might be cheaper that way than purchasing the new digital download of the same game from the Playstation Store...maybe. Who knows. We'll see what the "upgrade to digital" will cost and what will be the rules associated with it.

Have you ever bought a used game, fatpat268? Sony won't let you do it for the PSP Go.

New only, and almost always at full retail based on how PSN prices are now.

-If- Sony lets Amazon, etc. sell download codes then -maybe- there will be good deals-of-the-day now and then.

+$80 to start, then +$?? per game from then on.

I was just looking at psp game prices on psn, and they seem very reasonable.

Yea, it annoys me a little that I can't buy used games... but then again, it's been a long time since I've bought a used game, so it really doesn't bother me that much. To me, it's more of a convenience that I can hold several games on a portable without having to carry the media. Some may not see it that way, and they're free to continue using their PSP-2000 or 3000.

So, since they seem so reasonable, how many have you bought?

anyone that bought into (literally at that) the UMD format from sony deserves whatever they get.

So you are saying that any console that uses cartridges or proprietary disc format (eg. Dreamcast, Gamecube, PSP) gets what they deserve?

What is it exactly that they deserve? Last I checked, all games from PS1 (CD) to PS3 (BD) or Xbox to 360 (DVD) to any cartridge style game can't be played on anything other than their respective console...save for emulation, which the PSP can do.

This is just the most moronic least thought out response that I've ever read on this forum or anywhere else ever.

Stupid ass.

I don't have a psp right now, so none, and when I did have a PSP, there wasn't a PSN store for psp.

But I do plan on getting the PSP Go.
