Apparently as long as the dealer they PM to is reputable and it's in stock they will match the price. A&M photovideo = $709. This cam goes for $999 everyplace else. If the salesperson gives you grief have them call the PM department - A&M is on the approved list - today.

Good luck,

Stever

Good deal, but it's not $999 everywhere else. It was $814.00 at Buydig last time I looked; I bought another DSC-F707 from them a week ago, and will pricematch it down to $662.00 :Q

Hmmm. I dont have even 400 to spend but if you can give a little more detail about how to get it for 662 I am in.

EDIT: linkage to sony DSC-F707 for 669 as mentioned by poster above.

I was waiting for these to come down. (BTW I did a long exhaustive search between this and the latest Nikon and still find myself choosing the Sony) The night vision and the bigger lens (not only the better zoom though that was another plus) but the diameter of the lens.

I notice this post on Sat eve after stores are closed. Will this work?
Will sears match this?

TIA

BTW I saw amex blue deals on this board that might work for the nikon that brings it in for about 660 which is an incredible price. (unfortunately I dont have amex blue) Also the website above has the nikon for approx 660

Yeah you can pricematch it to 709 dollars and then take another 10% off till Tuesday, which bring the total to 638.10 + Sales Tax, making this deal even hotter.

Where is this 10% from?

I am going to assume that Sears is having a 10% off in either the entire store or electronics. I remember something about Sears going on. Anyway that would make this thing come in at 669 -10% (70) = 600 + tx.

That would be incredible.

I could keep it for a year (hell 4 yrs) until the foveon chip takes over the digital camera world and still be certain I could sell it for what I paid. (its going to replace CCD because foveon chips use color for each pixel. Sigma just came out with the first digital camera to use it)
Supposedly more depth and truer color to the pics.

I would love to hear that I am wrong. But I believe the 10% off was a Saturday only thing. :(

Edit
Ok a call to CSR (dont worry it was to clarify the 10% sale) said they are unaware of any 10% off sale. ( i was thinking maybe order it online before midnite Saturday central time)

They will be having customer appreciation sales this week (starting today Sunday) and they did have a sale on Sat but that it was not a 10% off sale. It was a on specific items that also would have been noted on their website and cameras were not in that list of items.

However if you have a Sears card you can get 0% financing on this item, though I dont know how long the free financing lasts. Is it 3 months or possibly 6 mths.

Thanks for the $669 linkie! I will see that guy tomorrow about an adjustment.

I asked about the 10%, and it's the lower of the prices, 10% or PM. For obvious reasons I went the PM route. I also didn't have to pay shipping because I was exchanging a camera that broke (lower Sony) under the warranty program. When I originally PM'ed that camera they did charge shipping.

The 10% off sale might be regional, here in the Chicagoland area, all Sears stores are having customer appreciation sales that started yesterday and continue on till Tuesday. It's 10% off everything in store and even on clearance prices.

Got a flyer in the mail that says they have another 10% off sale Mar7-9. AirMail1--suggestion taken--you are correct March 6-9--my mistake. I live in Lawrence, Kansas(GO HAWKS!!). I've always been able to get a price adjustment if I buy something and they have a 10% off sale within 30 days of when I purchased the item.

Suggestion. Edit post above and mention what region.

Philadelphia 10%off begins March 6th.

I am in the Philadelphia region and just got a mail flyer stating that a 10% off sale will begin this Wed and run for 4 days.

BTW do you think there is anyway to succesfully stack the PM and the 10% off AFTERWARDS?

Blais....

The camera comes with an Infolithium battery (best in class), a 16mb memstick (you will need at least a 64 or 128 to get going), some crummy software (MGI Photosuite and some other trash I don't use, I'm a Photoshop guy), the cool Sony camera strap.

It also comes with the BEST picture taking quality of any camera in it's class!

Go to the conclusion - that alone is worth the read.

Oh, and Skates, I was told under no uncertain terms that they wouldn't apply the 10%, it was the lower price of the two. If you can weasel the extra 10% out of Sears be my guest. As it stood I felt like I got an excellent deal on the camera and didn't push back on the 10%. No sense in risking the whole deal.

Spoke to a sales rep at the store. NO they will NOT do both a PM AND then an additional 10% off, (which seems very understandable....though that would have been an awesome extra)

They dont need another call. Follow links posted above and print out a copy of the page from A&M with the shipping information (you will have to go thru the purchase process for the 707 to have it calculate shipping and bring it to the store with you. (or email it to order@sears.com)

Just a heads up Sears HomeCentral (being, Sears Product Services - aka, Sears Parts/Service centers) offers coupon books when you pick up an item that has just been serviced. Some locations may give them to you if you ask, they're a thank you booklet of coupons (just ask for the "Thank You" book of coupons, they should know what you're talking about). Many locations are out of them and the booklets are on backorder to many locations, just a heads up as well..(and trust me, the retail store peeps aren't going to have a clue what these coupon books are so don't even bother)

You can find a 10% off coupon for electronics, 10% off parts, $5 off $30 for apparrel, and more. There's a 10% off coupon for quite a few of the retail Sears store's departments. This is especially hot for those who are Sears Employees since these coupons can also be combined with the Associate discount.

Ok. Just got an email response from Sears that I had sent on Sat. (see below) Nope they are NOT PMing A&M. I did call Sears after receiving the email to clarify. They were polite and explained pretty much what PsychoAndy inferred. A&M is not offering a US warranty so the items are NOT "identical". :(

Well in a way, I 'saved' 700 that I didnt really have to begin with. :)

Below is the reply to my PM query I got from Sears in their email:

Thank you for contacting Sears Online.

You have requested that we match a price, which you may have found on a
competitor's website. Our online price matching policy states:

"If you find a lower price (including shipping, handling and delivery) on an
identical branded item currently available for sale and delivery in your
area from an established online retailer, Sears will match that total price
at the time of, or within 30 days after, your purchase."

Unfortunately, we cannot match pricing from the web site you found since it
did not meet the criteria set forth above. In order for us to match another
site's price on an item, the site must be an established online retailer,
sell the identical branded item (with the same features, including a valid
US warranty), and have the item currently available for sale and delivery in
your area.

Well sorry ther chief... This deal may blow for you, but I am looking right at my 707 that I paid $709 for based on that A&M ad in the MAGAZINE! I never said to use the $669 website print out. They take print ads far more serious than any web site ad anyone can hack if they own FrontPage and Photoshop.

Thinlizzie,

1. CYM

2. Your post never referenced the specific 'print ad' you used by A&M, so it was understandable that the rest of us would find the corresponding link on the web and use that.

3. I agree this 'would' have been a FLAMING HOT deal if Sears would have continued to PM, though it seems that this has died.

4. Anyone else able to successfully PM and purchase at Sears?
If so, can you share or post the receipt? (remove CC info)

5. Can this be succesfully PMed to any other retailers?

TIA, Air

just to let you guys know, i did a pricematch in december for this camera at sears. Trust me, all stores are not the same. I tried getting a good deal online but i gave up and i certainly didnt wanna order anything from those places in NY. I really cant believe they can get away with the stuff they pull.( Try reading the reseller ratings on em).
Anyhow, i printed out the price from streetprices.com for these places and took the printout to the sears eastridge store in san jose. The manager refused to do it so i took it to the mountain view store and they happily did it there. Now im the proud owner of a $725 F707.
BTW the camera rocks with the laser crap and all.:)
