Can you guys explain this commercial to me. It's the one for the new Sony Cybershot M1.
There is this couple showing off their new house to the woman's mother. It's a dump, a raccoon runs by, etc. They get the mom to the final room, which is a nursery that is all made up and beautiful. The mom is surprised, happy, etc. Normal emotional reactions to finding out that your daughter is going to have a baby.
Then, the kicker. The mom asks, "So, who's the father?"
WTF?
Am I missing something here? Call me crazy, but I would assume that it's the guy running around taking pictures with a $500 camera that just bought a friggin house with your daughter. Even if the couple isn't married, buying a house together pretty much means commitment. Why does the mom ask that? Who's the father? Does the mom think that her daughter is that much of a slut that she has to ask?
Did I just miss the joke or something?
