Sony Cd-RW and Adaptec software??

I am about to purchase a Sony CRX 140E/CH2 8x4x32 CD-RW and I am wondering if I can use Adaptec's Easy CD 4.02 and Direct CD 3.01 software instead of the Prassi Extreme software that comes with the Sony CD-Rw? Or would I be better off to get the Plextor Plexwriter 8x4x32 that already has Adaptecs software?

Your drive should be supported by the Adaptec software. You may have to download the update to version 4.03 from www.roxio.com (Roxio is now the software arm of Adaptec). If you haven't bought your CDRW yet, you might want to buy the Plextor if you can get a good price on it. It is recommended over the Sony by most every hardware site on the web.

I just installed a CXR 140E along with Easy CD Creator in a friend's system and everything is fine. Like jmorrel said though, most people think the Plextor is a better writer.
