yep, name says it all. The controllers are Sony brand, and say PS1 on the front. Unpackaged, and I bought a PS2 controller from Sony - they're identical. Island Blue with PS1 logo is $13.97. Not too bad - $11-15 off PS2 controllers that are identical.

Yes, they're touch sensitive, analog, and dual shock.

Hope this helps. First Hot buy in a while.

Also - you may want to ask, mine had a bunch in the back in stock room. (Tampa, FL).

EDIT: - forgot to add, at my local store they were stocked at $14.97 and 16.97 respectively, but scanned for less at the register.

PS1 controllers have no analog sticks. Are they PS1 controllers or PS2, because there is a HUGE difference?

Actually, Ur wrong, the PS1 controllers do have the analog buttons, the "Dualshock" controllers. Only diff between the PS1 "Dualshock" and PS2 controllers are that the PS2 controllers are "Dualshock 2" and some PS2 games require a "Dualschock 2" controller and will not be compatiable with a "Dualshock" controller. These controllers will work with a PS2, but certain games that require the Dualshock 2 controllers will not work with this controller.

A lot of misinformed people.

The PS1 controllers have analog STICKS, but the BUTTONS are absolutely not analog. I.E. for racing games, you can lightly press the 'x' button (accelerate) and you will accelerate only a slight bit, but that only works on dualshock2 controllers. Why the hell would they "require the Dualshock 2' if they were they same. It's a decent deal regardless, because not many games outside of racing games benefit from those analog buttons.

The PS2 controllers have pressure sensitive buttons that are *DIGITAL*
On the back of a game, if it says it supports *digital* control, that means the D-Pad, the 4 face buttons, and the 4 shoulder buttons will all be pressure sensitive.

The PS1 controller - called the DualShock - has analog sticks
The PS2 controller - called the DualShock2 - has analog sticks, 8 digital pressure sensitive buttons, and a digital pressure sensitive D-Pad.

That said, if a game does not requre digital control, the PS1 DualShock will work fine. There are some games that requre digital control, where the PS1 DualShock will work - there will just be no pressure sensitivity - ie if it's a racing game the gas pedal will be floored or nothing. Other games that require digital control won't even work with a PS1 DualShock.

casualsax, i think you are confusing digital (either on or off) with analog (a range of values)

Analog schmanelog button gluttons. I had the wrong PS1 controller in mind, my buddy had a ps2 with 1 controller the other controller was a ps1 controller and when we would play madden the looser got the "non analog" controller. It sucked, and i forgot about the dual shock.
