I've had a PSP for a few years now and just started playing it when I picked up GoW on a recent business trip. Lots of fun. Looking forward to Motorstorm as a great time-waster on future trips.

Although, I'm still trying to figure out how they're going to implement Rock Band.

I'd like to get a PSP sometime, but it just so happens that I'm broke and have enough of those little gadgets distracting me already.

same here. I'm think its just button presses.
This would be a fun time to implement the "use your PS3 controller to play PSP games", as seen in Resistance for the PSP ("PSP Plus").

This article has the details.

The gameplay is largely the same as that of Rock Band and Rock Band 2; players must hit corresponding buttons in-time as they scroll by on-screen. There will not be a peripheral attachment available, like that which Activision produced for Guitar Hero: On Tour for the Nintendo DS. Instead, all input is handled by the ?Left,? ?Up,? ?Triangle,? and ?Circle? buttons. The player can switch between guitar, drums, bass, and ?vocals? (although he won?t physically be singing, merely tapping buttons) using the L and R shoulder buttons.

Tracks are broken down into what are called ?phrases.? Play a phrase perfectly to earn a multiplier boost and a prompt to switch to a different instrument. The player can actually choose to switch instruments at anytime, but switching prematurely will cause him to lose his multiplier. ?Overdrive,? used to rack up big points and avoid failing a track, is of course included as always.

The game will ship with tracks from Blink 182, Boston, AFI, Kansas, Lit, and The Police. DLC tracks will be made available through the PlayStation Network and can be accessed through the game?s own built-in store. Multiplayer functionality will not be available. Visually, the style and feel of Rock Band is maintained perfectly, with only a drop-off in the polygon count.

So it's Parappa. Fair enough.

Well, after they trashed the development of Oblivion for the PSP a year or two ago I just gave up on new games for it. This doesn't change anything. I didn't even finish AssCreed on the PS3 because it sucked and I have GH for my PS3 so RB on my PSP is useless. Just another example of Sony not having a clue what their customers want. Sony had a good run but it's clear that they have dropped the ball as badly as they could in this generation of game consoles. They allowed a terrible Socom to be released, their new PS3's are failing worse than the old 360's did, and the price is still outrageous on the system itself. The only reason the PS3 isn't an epic failure is because of the loyalty of fans for the name. As someone who bought a release PS3 I have been unquestionably disappointed by the PS3, it's games, and the services offered by Sony. If Sony does manage to release a PS4 I will not be buying it until I am sure there are at least 3 exclusive reasons to do so. Hmmmm, crappy Slant 6 Socom or Gears of War 2? Yeah, PS3 nation, we got screwed.

95% of the fun of music/rhythm games is playing while hanging out with a group of friends. Making a mobile version of rockband/guitar hero/etc is just stupid to me.

Activision and Nintendo would disagree with you

Well, maybe just Activision because it's not compatible with the DSi. :p

The PSP is an excellent system but Sony has sorely neglected it. I don't buy the "it's piracy" line. It's just a failure to seriously invest in the system. I really hope these games just don't end up on the back burner like so many others before them. I already can't wait for Motorstorm and LBP.

Good post. As an avid PS/PSP gamer I must say I am rather overwhelmingly disappointed in the lack of innovation Sony has brought to the PS3 and PSP game systems. Both are astounding platforms and are being outperformed by lesser machines due to a larger investment in new ideas and titles for the other available systems. I definitely will not be buying another launch PS console for a long while.

I hear ya. My PSP has been collecting dust for over a year due to the lack of any decent games I would be interested in. Even my local bestbuy move the PSP stuff all the way to the back of the game area and moved PC games closer to the front. Weird cuz PC games have always been shoved to the back of stores in recent years. I cant see RB on the psp tho. GH worked on the DS cuz you had the pick and guitar attachment.
