Sony 301 disc DVD/CD player - Bestbuy B&M $399

Best Buy has a $100 INSTANT rebate on their 301 disc DVD/CD player, which brings it to $399!! (B&M ONLY!!!) You can only find it marginally cheaper(w s/h) from shady online stores. Does anyone know anything about this player???

A friend of mine has had it for about a year. He bought it at Costco for 700 I think (retail a couple hundred higher). Believe it or not, it's filled up and if they come out with a larger one he'll buy it. I never heard him compain about it so it must be OK. 399 looks like a good deal.

Opps. Sorry I didn't read the title. I think his is the Pioneer model. Might be related though since they are both 301 DVD capacity. Maybe the Sony is a rebaged Pioneer.

How do I find out if an online-retailer is an authorized Sony dealer?
Want to pricematch with GG, CC, of BB, but don't know if they are authorized dealer.

I have had a sony 200 disk cd player for several years. It's flawless, and I don't know how or why people deal with jewel cases any more. But I could use space for another 300

they usually have a menu listing on the player if you dont use programs like dvd profiler.

there are electonic menus iirc; they also come with a wallet/album that holds 200 cd-case size folders and a set of numbered labels, which may be easier

wish we had those AIWA's from NWL again....it would make this deal look like a warm one...but the price($399) still is a good one for the player....
