A microdrive is just that-a very small hard drive. Not solid state. I don't know if this uses one or not, but if it does then it can't be considered to be solid state.

Yes it is a Micro Drive

Reviews say it is sllloooowwww

"The advantages of the MicroVault Pro are obvious: its low weight and incredibly slim design mean it can easily be tucked into a shirt or pants pocket. Unfortunately, its data transfer speed of max. 6.2 MB/s is nothing to write home about. The reason for this is the 1" hard drive installed inside the enclosure; these small drives just aren't nearly as fast as 2.5" or 3.5" models."

But a good price non the less. I'll probably drop for one if my Staples dividends check comes.

There are a number of sony memory drives on sale this week. I picked up a couple 256MB stick drives for $19.99 ea. after instant and "easy rebate."
