Sony 16x Media DVD +-R, 100 pack

I've had a lot more success with the Sony +R than the Verbatims everyone raves about.

But the +R frequently go on sale at Best Buy or Staples for about $24 per 100, so $34/100 is not a good deal IMO.

+R is supposedly more reliable for DVD's correct?
It's the other way around. 😛
But media and players have got much better on compatibility in the last few years.
I still tend to use DVD-R's if the main burn is for stand alone DVD players. Old habits die hard.

No - he's correct. DVD+R is more reliable if you set the book type to DVD-ROM so that the DVD players thinks it's a pressed DVD. This is not possible with DVD-R.

Hmm, I don't believe that setting the booktype would make either media more or less reliable. More compatable, yes.
I used to really like Sony media when it was made in Japan. I've had issues with them made in Taiwan in the past, but maybe that's changed recently. That's a great price if they are reliable.

This site says the MIT SONY's are still considered tier 1 disks. Digital FAQ

Update: According to today's ad, the price is $22.99/100 for either -R or +R. Original poster-please update the first post.

This is a good price for good discs. Either Staples or Best Buy has been having them at this price about once a month since at least early spring. I haven't seen them cheaper ever.
