The 12x don't have burnproof. However with the size of the buffer, it doesn't matter that much. I've never made a coaster. Supports CloneCD perfectly.

this drive DOES NOT have BURNPROOF!! It does have 8MB buffer though which from my experience is more than enough. You shouldn't need burnproof with this burner unless you do alot on your computer while burning and I MEAN ALOT!!! I like Sony burners though, I've had mine for 2 yrs and works great, mine only has a 2MB buffer and haven't burned a coaster yet. I usually only surf on my computer while burning though. -CM

The reason i want to get a burn proof drive is because i really DO A LOT of things while burning, games, mpeg converting, listening MP3, etc. Still a good deal thou if someone doesn't do multi-tasking that much.
