So when will Dell and Fujitsu start selling Sonoma laptops?

Am I correct in assuming that they will be much more expenseive than current Centrino notebooks?

Will current Centrino notebook prices fall considerably? (i.e. Dells 600m is selling for ~$900, will it go any lower?)

80 new laptops will be announced immediately after the chipset launches next week.

My guess is dell will start selling them right away

And start shipping them in early feb.

Over at the thinkpad forum the scuttlebut is that IBM will announce the T43 next week and general availability in feb.

Wow, I am saving up to buy a sweet lappy in August and I can't wait to get my hands on the 9300 or a better lappy.

That site was wrong about the release of the PowerBook G5 at MacWorld.

Where did they get 80 new notebooks next week from?

This is the first major chipset upgrade since centrino came out years ago. EVERYONE is coming out with new laptops.

As the chipset has been delayed and delayed and delayed, the manufacturers probably can't wait to get the new stuff out

Conroy9 nice link

80 number is reported directly by intel, not just notebook forums

It's not a hard number to imagine, this is last years promised chipset, the laptops were all desinged and ready and waiting for intel to get off it's delaying silicon but months ago:
