Sonicare toothbrush

I was looking at getting a Sonicare, Costco seems to have a good deal. My one question is how long do the brush heads last? They say 6 months per brush, and they cost about $10 each. Do they really last 6 months?

i had one on there a year before i changed it, but it was pretty ragged at that time. getting a new one was a definite improvement.

They really last 6 months or more.

And your teeth are gonna love that thing. Once the get used to it, you'll see what I mean in the first week.

how much is it at costco now?

Was thinking of that or Oral B which seems to be cheaper, with cheaper replacement heads too

they last pretty damn long. not just lasting long, but effective for that long, too, not like a regular toothbrush that looks like it's doing the "Y" of the YMCA song. You're encouraged not to press hard with the sonicare lest you really want to do a number on your gums.

Mine is going on two years+

Sonicare rocks. I'm just scared of the non-user-replaceable battery. But I've been using mine for 2+ years and the battery still works.

It's about $100 on costco.com, or 120 at costco, this gets you two handles and three brushes.

It sounds like they last long enough, so I'll try it out.

ok, i've had my old one for a while, maybe 2+ years? before the battery finally died out and it stopped charging. It was great though!

They Brush heads can last quite a long time. I think the rule is to replace them every time you go to the dentist (approximately 6 months). You can get away with using them longer though.

6 months? Wow. I guess the 6 pack we got in addition to the 2 or 4 that came with it will last us a while. :Q

6 months is actually an accurate estimate. Some last longer, some not. Probably depends on brushing frequency and pressure applied.

Yes there's a $25 coupon, so that makes it $95 in-store before tax I think. Not a bad deal really considering it's 18 months worth of brushes inside too, and hopefully no cavities 😀

Does this trump the OralB? I have the Oral B, But I heard this was better? Well, is it. That's a hot price for a Sonicare.

Hell, mine has lasted longer than that. Perhaps it's time to replace it. 😉

QFT. i think its time i replaced mine since its been 10+ months...
my handle got all moldy though. the gf and i dont leave it on the charging stand unless there's no juice. it lasts about a week but the recharge is uber-slow

I've been using one for 3 years now. I guess I'm a total slacker on brush head replacements, I think I'm only on my 3rd one since I got it.
After 3 years, its still holding up well, although the battery doesn't seem to hold quite as big of a charge as it used to, but its still good for at least a week of brushing per charge.

as others have said, they do last 6 months. sonicare is awesome. my 6 month dentist visits take about 20 minutes. there is next to nothing for the dentist to do, maybe one or two scrapes with the pick of doom and a polish.

A friend of mine recommended Sonicare to me about 2 years ago and I've been loving it ever since. My brush head lasted over a year and the 2nd one is still going strong.

"the pick of doom"

it's actually a sickel or a curette. 😛
