Gary Jules - Mad World

All around me are familiar faces
Worn out places, worn out faces
Bright and early for their daily races
Going nowhere, going nowhere
Their tears are filling up their glasses
No expression, no expression
Hide my head I want to drown my sorrow
No tomorrow
No tomorrow

And I find it kinda funny
I find it kinda sad
The dreams in which I'm dying
Are the best I've ever had
I find it hard to tell you
I find it hard to take
When people run in circles
It's a very, very
Mad world
Mad world

Children waiting for the day they feel good
Happy Birthday, Happy Birthday
Made to feel the way that every child should
Sit and listen, sit and listen
Went to school and I was very nervous
No one knew me, no one knew me
Hello teacher tell me what's my lesson
Look right through me
Look right through me

And I find it kinda funny
I find it kinda sad
The dreams in which I'm dying
Are the best I've ever had
I find it hard to tell you
I find it hard to take
When people run in circles
It's a very, very

Mad world
Mad world
Enlarging your world
Mad world

I dont know why but certain songs litterly give me something that i can only describe as the shivers. When these songs play i feel this sensation go from my head, and down by back, and sometimes over my entire body. nothing strong or over powering, but deff there.

Most of the songs from Sigur Ros's first two CDs do this to me
A lot of Radiohead songs do it for me...expecially songs like Pyramid song, I might be wrong, and Everything in its right place
The accoustic version of Creep

"Uninvited" - Alanis Morissett (Just an eery, creepy kinda' melody, but good music imho) :(

"100 years" - Five For Fighting (Not necesarily chills, but when I listen to the words, it reminds me how short life is.........next thing ya' know you're 99 for a moment & then it's game over!)

Again, these aren't favorites, just songs of deep (dark?) thought. :moon:

Prison Sex
by Tool
album: Undertow (1993)

It took so long to remember just what happened.
I was so young and vestal then,
you know it hurt me,
but I'm breathing so I guess I'm still alive
even if signs seem to tell me otherwise.
I've got my hands bound,
and my head down, and my eyes closed,
my throats wide open.

I do unto others what has been done to me
Do unto others what has been done to you

I'm treading water,
I need to sleep a while.
My lamb and martyr,
you look so precious.
Wont you, won't you come a bit closer,
close enough so I can smell you.
I need you to feel this,
I can't stand to burn too long.
Released in this sodomy.
For one sweet moment I am whole.

Do unto you now what has been done to me.
Do unto you now what has been done...

You're breathing so I guess you're still alive
even if signs seem to tell me otherwise.
Won't you, wont you come just a bit closer,
close enough so I can smell you.
I need you to feel this.
I need this to make me whole.
There's release in this sodomy.
For I am your witness that
blood and flesh can be trusted.
I am your witness that
blood and flesh can be trusted
And only this one holy medium brings me piece of mind.

Got your hands bound, your head down,
and your eyes closed.
You look so precious now.

I have found some kind of temporary sanity in this
sh!t blood and cum on my hands.

I've come round full circle.
My lamb and martyr, this will be over soon.
You look so precious...
You look so precious...
You look so precious...
You look so precious, now...
You look so precious...

The Fight Song - Marilyn Manson
Confusion - New Order
Bodies - Drowning Pool
Prelude 12/21 - AFI
Animal I Have Become - Three Days Grace

That's just a few, I have a bunch that I used to listen to in order to get pumped before a fight.

Iron & Wine - The Trapeze Swinger

I have a hard time thinking of a song with better lyrics, and I own about 495 albums, including lots of indie/folk/singer-songwriter stuff. It's an absolutely amazing song. I've had a few Dylan diehards catch their breath when they heard it.

Please, remember me
Happily
By the rosebush laughing
With bruises on my chin
The time when
We counted every black car passing
Your house beneath the hill
And up until
Someone caught us in the kitchen
With maps, a mountain range
A piggy bank
A vision too removed to mention
But

Please, remember me
Fondly
I heard from someone you're still pretty
And then
They went on to say
That the pearly gates
Had some eloquent graffiti
Like "We'll meet again"
And "****** the man"
And "Tell my mother not to worry"
And angels with their great
Handshakes
Were always done in such a hurry
And

Please, remember me
At Halloween
Making fools of all the neighbors
Our faces painted white
By midnight
We'd forgotten one another
And when the morning came
I was ashamed
Only now it seems so silly
That season left the world
And then returned
And now you're lit up by the city
So

Please, remember me
Mistakenly
In the window of the tallest tower
Calling passers-by
But much too high
To see the empty road at happy hour
Gleam and resonate
Just like the gates
Around the holy kingdom
With words like "Lost and found"
And "Don't look down"
And "Someone save Temptation"
And

Please, remember me
As in the dream
We had as rug-burn babies
Among the fallen trees
And fast asleep
Aside the lions and the ladies
That called you what you like
And even might
Give a gift for your behavior
A fleeting chance to see
A trapeze
Swing as high as any savior
But

Please, remember me
My misery
And how it lost me all I wanted
Those dogs that love the rain
And chasing trains
The colored birds above their running
In circles around the well
And where it spells
On the wall behind St. Peter
So bright with cinder gray
And spray paint
"Who the hell can see forever?"
And

Please, remember me
Seldomly
In the car behind the carnival
My hand between your knees
You turned from me
And said, "The trapeze act was wonderful
But never meant to last"
The clown that passed
Saw me just come up with anger
When it filled with circus dogs
The parking lot
Had an element of danger
So

Please, remember me
Finally
And all my uphill clawing
My dear
But if I make
The pearly gates
Do my best to make a drawing
Of God and Lucifer
A boy and girl
An angel kissing on a sinner
A monkey and a man
A marching band
All around the frightened trapeze swingers
