I swear if I hear that song again, I might become uncontrollably violent. My fiance's sister would play that NON-STOP for hours on end whenever I visited their apartment. Drove me up the fvcking wall.

I took me a while to figure out what she was singing. I thought it was
pa pa pa pa pa pa pa pa pump up the bass.
Then I figured out that it was "poker face" and thought that was like you know totally like retarded.

Those are 2 good ones actually. The first one made me think of 'What I Like About You' which I can't imagine anyone not liking either.

You know what I want you to do? I want you to go upstairs to that apartment where that guy keeps playing that Barry Manilow record "Copacabana" over and over and over again. I want you to ring the doorbell, and when he answers the door, I want you to stab him in the neck with a Number 2 pencil over and over and over again because he must pay! Chop him up and put him in the freezer and as you leave the apartment, light the place on fire!

Hmm...for some reason Margaritaville by Jimmy Buffet popped into my head when I read the title.

This thread is flawed, there is a large number of songs in it that I'd actively change stations if they came on. I will agree with Bohemian Rhapsody, Final Countdown, and Piano Man. However I'm sure plenty of people will step up and say they hate those.

I could say Bush - Come Down. Billy Joel - We Didn't Start The Fire. Michael Jackson - Smooth Criminal.

Truth. A lot of the songs mentioned in this thread already, either I don't like, or I've never heard of, and I'm pretty sure my parents wouldn't like them either.

To find songs that the vast majority of people like, you have to find something your parents or grandparents liked, and is still popular today. For example, some of the Beatles stuff, or even earlier.

I think one exception would be Louis Armstrong's "What a Wonderful World" from 1968. It's been used in so many movies.

Now if the OP had said "Songs that everybody under 30 seems to like," then maybe a lot of the songs mentioned would be alright.

I heard this song for the first time the other day. It is complete and utter trash with the musical complexity of a barking dog.
