Hi Folks - I am doing my first build and really like the clear side panel - do they make something like this for the Sonata II?

defeats the point of silence. nothing lets through noise like thin plastic windows. sonata is also more solid then lanboy for that reason. weight/tight fit =dampen vibration/noise. plus...less direct paths in and out the better.

Yes, that is true. I built a computer for someone with the Super Lanboy one week before building my own new computer with the Sonata II. My Sonata II is much quieter and heavier than the Super Lanboy. The Lanboy felt very flimsy for an aluminum case. I actually bent one of the posts as I picked it up. I bent it right back and it was good as new. I never had that problem with any of the three aluminum Antec/Chieftec/Chenming cases I've owned.

What do you guys do with the duct hole at the back of the case if you don't attach the duct? I don't like the idea of an un - filtered 1x4 inch hole in a negative pressure case. Or in my case I have a 120 mil fan at the front and all the air seems to be going straight out that hole ( no circulation over CPU ).

Best maybe to seal it up?

Thanks

Not sure if this was a reply to me. I wasn't really talking about the rear 120mm, but the large rectangle hole at the bottom left of your case if you don't attach the duct. In a negative pressure case, it will draw in air form the path of least resistance. In a Sonata II's case, it will draw all its air from that un-filtered hole making your case super dusty. Whats the point in having such a nice filter system in front if all its doing us sucking air in from right below your rear 120mm?

Just curious , because all the pictures I see , people attach the small plastic sleave but then leave the rest of the duct off leaving the hole wide open. I took one of the plastic plate covers ( that are under the front door, before you install your CD drive ) and snapped it right on top of that sleave, blocking off the hole.

oh. but based on sonata 1 experience, just having alternative path doesn't mean most air goes through there. most of the dust is still caught in the front filter even though there are side holes. and yes they stencil dust "antec" inside the case. but there is more dust in the filter then in the case.
