It would indeed be interesting to see the video in context. O'Keefe is a strange and creepy guy. It's possible, based on the way that article describes the video, that he was so insistent about this voter fraud idea that Moran finally just said, "yeah, whatever," to get him to leave. Obviously he would have been better off repudiating the offer in no uncertain terms (indeed one suspects that many others have, and O'Keefe has declined to release the videos showing it). In any case, even if all Moran (the son) did was say "yeah, whatever," that would in my view justify his resignation. I don't see at all how this in any way obligates the candidate to withdraw from the race, however.

I only made it 10 minutes in have to watch the rest later, so far it sounds like a dude talking about how you would pull it off vs lets do it.

Another bombshell from James O'Keefe. Story developing.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/local...805d26-1e22-11e2-8817-41b9a7aaabc7_story.html

How can Moran not resign his campaign after this? And where are all the liberals saying there's no such thing as voter fraud and there's no need for voter ID's?

Watched the video lots of back and forth for how a guy woudl do it and what he woudl have to be careful of , but in no way did he say he would help or condone it. Outrage not found

You are a hack.

"I'm impressed dude"

"I would call and make sure they aren't going to vote."

Imagine if this was a guy talking about murdering his wife. Then this guy is basically telling him what he needed to do and says "I'm impressed".

Im not a hack, I think he should be filleted for it. I just dont think its proof of anything other than his shitty judgement.

When i was younger my friends and I would talk about how we would rob a bank too, we never did never even considered it.

It's proof that he doesn't have any problem with voter fraud if it helps his candidates. I don't think it proves that voter fraud is rampant, on that I agree.

In my view the "I respect your initiative" and "I'm impressed dude" are especially damning.

Yeah is douchey for sure, but he also says the energy would be better spent just trying to get them out to vote. Do I think he would have a problem if someone esle cheated and he benefitted no I dont, and thats the part that makes him a douche.

But I dont find evidence from the video he engaged in that sort of crap or that voter fraud is an issue outside of RW boogeymen,

I am only 5 mins in, but does not Moran say this would be harder to pull off with the voter id laws so he should make the fake utility bills look very good? And Moran also said to make them look good so that he could get a lawyer or suggest a lawyer to fight for it? I think the term he used was an OFA lawyer, Organizing For Obama.

So far Moran seems quite helpful.

I agree, he does provide if you were going to do it here is what you need to look out for. thats what makes him a douche that should resign. But it doesnt prove anything about voter fraud overall.

O'Keefe? credibility=0

Isn't this the same guy who was arrested for attempting to illegally tap a Senators phone line.

He also tried to prove voter fraud by comitting voter fraud.

I am not referring to how big an issue voter fraud is or is not, that has been beaten to death. But, he does touch on the fact that the new voter id laws in VA will apparently make the fraud being discussed in the video harder to do, and Moran suggesting what to do to work around that. Is that fair?

The senator's son never offers to participate in the fraud, but he has no business even discussing it or talking about the best technique. Moran deserves to lose that election. But I still don't think that this proves in any way that there is significant voter fraud or that there should be a photo id requirement in the US or just in VA. The requirement obviously won't stop determined voter fraud, and it is likely to disenfranchise a significant portion of valid voters.
