I think he meant 1000 MHz (probably 1001 or 1008) and 1.80 V I mean i'm not gonna defend him like he's my friend but he did say 1000 MHz and 1.80 right after.

my mutha f**ken friend got his pentium 3 1000 to 1.80 ghz!

That is was vvv or whatever his name is said... Nowhere did he say at 1.8volts... He said at 1.8ghz.

And if it was a mistake, one would have thought that he would have come back to fix it by now.

BULL SH!T.. I mean it this guy is full of crap! put it this way, water cool system, as it is is an excellent way to transfer heat, but keep in mind, heat transfer is still only as good as how your ambient temperture is.. plus, there's also the electron problem, at room temperture, your regular chip electric resistant is WAY too high for any thing even CLOSE to 240Mhz FSB! WTF!!? No ram in the world runs that high, and I'm sure he ain't using rambus.

There is one possibility though, but not w/ a watercool setup, as someone posted here befoe, using compressed helium or somethin to take the ambient temperture down to 14K, then you are also significantly lowering the electrical resistent on the chip, make it almost superconductive in sense, in that case, you might be able to run it close to that.. but I dont' even think intel can do that sh!t yet man!

<<72x CDR..>> I think he means the kenwood 72x truex, why the hell would u need a 72xcdr if you already have a plextor 12x10x32?

<<u66 45gb?>> Bull! if you friend have that kinda money, he'll setup a Raid ata100 w/ an ibm XP75 already!

This kid knows nothing man!

Not that I believe this kid, but there are several links out there about extreme overclocking, even bus speeds as high as 240 mhz. Just check out the link posted above which has several screenshots of bus speeds at or close to 240. Usually these are really extreme measures(liquid nitrogen setups or the like) and obviously only operate at that speed for short periods of time. That being said, the highest I have seen for an Intel or AMD overclocking setup is about 1550-1600mhz......

This is bunch of BS! We here are tech people and know hardwares. Noway that will work and runs Windows. Dude, you need to take a screenshot to defend your claim.

It is guys like you who make these forums suck :p

Right,
extreme overclocking in the classroom?
AHAha
That takes much resources. Most here cant even pull them.

Can we lock this thread already? I think we've already established that this is false, but yet the thread continues to grow.

The kid is not lying about the overclocking to from 1.0 ghz to 1.80 ghz.

It sounds hard to believe, but on my system, I have a duron 600 overclocked at 2.4ghz w/ 35c temp on stock heatsinkfan!

...hahahahhahahha!!
