somewhat funny story about

i was at my uncle's place for Labor Day the other week. he wants to get broadband at his house but he lives in a rural area and most of his neighbors are Amish. So all he can get now is dial up. he checked into satellite but it was just way too expensive. he said when he checked on dsl/cable availability they told him that if there was enough demand in his area they would get it out his way.

at this point he sticks up his hands like he's shrugging, looks around, and says "look around, think that will happen soon?"

i think the part about pointing out the amish neighbors should have been at the end. put that at the end of the story (and, of course, removing 'somewhat funny' from the title) and it may have been more effective.
