For several days now I've been trying to get this pair of ECS N2U400-A motherboards up and running to no avail... no POST... I've tried different sticks of ram, different CPUs, different vidcards, and different PSUs with no change in result.... no POST. I'm about to give up on them wne I notice, far away from the main power plug on the mobo, that little square plug with 4 connectors (2x2), and realize that I haven't been plugging the other PSU plug into that one... *sigh* In any event... powering up an XP2000 now.

An XP2100 that I have at home isn't happy... the PSU went PSST on me. Got my shipment of 420W ThermalTakes from newegg, plugged it in and there was joy... until we got to the desktop (Win2K Pro SP4) when I got the BSoD. Booted into Safe Mode with no problems... ran programs with no problems... tried regular bootup again and BSoD. Soooo... until I reinstall Win2K Pro on that box, it's running FaD in Safe Mode, although that doesn't seem to be slowing it down at all... seems to be running at around the same speed... I just can't do anything else on that box for now

I have a bro in law who still insists that bios settings make no diff - NT replaces all that... BULLSHIT 😉

whatcha expect for an ex MS employee...

Dont feel bad Geoffs

I replaced the power supply on my prescott this morning (thanks James, Freewolf, for the tip) TTGI 520watt 3 fans 😛

but the other day I was turning it on and off trying to get it to power and nothing no light etc I mean nothing

it was 30 minutes before I realized I was backwards I was turning it off rather than on.(under the desk so I was going from memory 🙁)

when I realized my mistake lol it still only powered the lights on the mobo no fans spun.

Tommorow I'll try to get the parts back in the girls computer and restart my crunching efforts.

moment of silence for an antec true 430.

Mike
