I had a bad experience about 10 years ago, and quit drinking, smoking, etc, all at the same time, for about 3 years. Decided since I turned into a nervous wreck, I needed something to occasionally take the edge off, I'd start drinking again. I always loved Bombay and tonic, with a big fat lime, so I made friends with them again. The first month or so, I was getting wasted on 1 drink- I thought something was seriously wrong- then my body got used to them. 7 years and many bottles later, I mix them about 50/50 gin/tonic, and can drink several that way before getting too stupid.
