My heart is w/ the families and workers @ nasa.

Oy. The families were there waiting for them to land, and now they just have to sit there and pray. And now they are showing the astronauts on CNN. This is too much. 🙁 🙁 🙁

I'm not much into this, but let's all pray for them.

My brother used to work at nasa a few years ago, im gonna call him and see if he knows anything.

Just showed some pictures on CNN taken by an amatuer photographer. One of the pictures sure looks like some kind of explosion took place.

Every substace has a flash point. At that temperature nearly anything will burst into flame. The heat generated by rentry into the atmosphere is incredible. Just a few critical tile's failure would result in loss of control. Just a degree or two of yaw is all it takes at 6 times the speed of sound. The 'explosions' we see could be just about anything.

Undoubtably photos of the wreckage will start showing up on CNN

And not long after that, some scumbag on Ebay will offer wreckage for auction :|
If any scumbag is still dumb enough to handle it I just hope he qualifies for a Darwin award...that sh!t is toxic yo.

I doubt we'll see stuff on Ebay. NASA is telling everyone to stay away from any wreckage that is found due to the chance of there being rocket fuel present. According to them, breathing in the vapors will leave you dead in 24-48 hours 🙂

CNN is reporting that a plane was "awfully close" to the shuttle before the explosion, but it sounds like coincide to me since the videos dont show anything to that nature.

That is the one thing I hate about watching breaking news. Too much speculation, too little fact, and too many people trying to "break" the news story.

At least I haven't heard too much speculation about it being a terrorist attack.
