No, there isn't AA at any California public universities. Berkeley is 46.3% Asian, while Asians make up 12.4% of California's population.

I find it funny that people are complaining about being hurt by Affirmative Action, but yet foreign students still get shoved much worse compared to American citizens.

Everyone SHOULD be held to the same standard.
Whether you're an American citizen or a foreign student should be irrelevant. Whether you're white or black should be irrelevant.

You mean like at schools hich are paid for and funded by American taxpayers?

Foreign students pay out-of-state tuition (equivalent to private school tuition), so I don't think your argument holds much weight.

umm yes, being a minority helps you ALOT for getting into college. also, it should be noted that straight A students with high SAT and AP scores area dime a freakin dozen. I know it doesn't seem that way maybe, but to get into a top school you need something that will stand out from the crowd and make you look unique.

diversity FTW?

thought supreme court struck down affirmative action for schools that accepted fed/state $?

I think American colleges should prefer to educate people who are more likely to stay in the United States after they graduate. Especially colleges that get funding from the government.

The real question is, why do you care? I can't see why this is your concern.

Worry about your own grades and your own future. Or, maybe worry about having a little fun during the best 4 years of your life, rather than who was admitted where.

If it relates to policies in the school that'll eventually affect him, I can see why he'd be concerned.

Well we've stated numerous times that there's no AA for California public universities, and she was probably accepted because she applied as a Forestry major.
