You don't even need a new battery. I hook up a tiny motorcycle battery that can no longer start the bike and it still last me 3 years with the occasional black outs. I think I got about 4-5 hours out of it running my HTPC & TV one summer.

Sealed batteries are for sure the way to go.

i dunno, i've never hacked an ups before, just read about it. i never got around to it:p that being said me thinks for a gaming system u really need a large marine battery or two to get decent run time.. else its just save and shutdown asap!

Aren't most batteries nowadays?

Besides, you wouldn't want battery acid spilling all over the place just because you tipped over the bike.

nope. mazda3 (2004-2008 models ) came with batteries you could fill up w/water.
i never knew this till AFTER i replaced the battery... GRRRRR!
