I just bought a AMD 64 3200 with a MSI K8N NEO2 Platinium. When I use the core center utility it says that my CPU is running at 200 x 5 = 1000mhz..sandra 2005 says the same thing...but winxp says 2000 mhz..im kinda lost...is it because of the DDR witch you must double the 200 to make 400? Because when I read ones of anand article he said he OC a 3000 at 290 x 9 = 2610mhz...no double rate rule in this case..HELP ME !

1000 is the HTT speed. 2000 is the cpu speed.(stock) OC is a different story, and yes anand was running 290x9=2610.

Well, it may also be the you have AMD's "Cool N' Quiet" activated.

Please see their website for more information. My Athlon 64, if you right click on System and go to properties, with CN'Q enabled, says 1000Mhz.

disabling CN'Q jumps it back up to normal.

No, it slows down the cpu speed so the cpu will be cooler. The fan should also slow down. But the cpu slowing down is the main feature of coolNquiet.
