Sometimes when im on the computer *twice now in RTCW* it locks for a few seconds then does it again about 5 times...i bring up the CPU usage box and when it locks like this, the CPU usage rockets up too the high 90's drops, locks again going into the 90's...it does this a couple of times...sometimes i can continue what i was doing but it will disconnect everything from the inet, chat progs, kazaa, ect. i have to restart to get back to normal. i thought it might be a heat problem so i took the case side off, still does it. any ideas? i put in a pci slot fan recently, it hasnt done this before that....hmmm...maybe PS is to small? 350W
idk if this info will help but...does this out of games too. hoping its just the PS is too small, and not the vid card...idk...im about to arson this thing, I HATE COMPUTERS! fix 1 thing, and something else goes wrong. BAH

Open up the Task Manager and see if it's always the same process eating up cpu cycles. Most likely you have some poorly written application (or spyware) running in the background. Once you identify what's causing the problem, then you can come up with a course of action.

Mesa Say it is Kazaa = Spyware

and i don't care if you say you got the "lite versoin" it still has spyware.

hehe...kazaa doesnt have spyware anymore...ever hear of a "dummy" file? takes the place of cydoor and all other spyware that kazaa installs.. anyways, ive been running on my 98SE partition and i experience BAD slowdowns when installing apps and games, it acts like it does in XP, but it doesnt lock. maybe its something with XP? i have a codegen model 300X1 PS @ 350W are you sure i dont have too many things hooked up and perhaps need a bigger PSU? maybe its this pos WD HD drive i have

350W psu sounds big enough to me. I'm running a 300W with a similar setup as you and haven't had any problems.
