the htc desire 816 is a nice phone, but I find my self using my old phone too (moto g)

For $500, new Moto X looks pretty nice. I was skeptical at first, but have warmed up to it.

Agreed, it's not coming with a $650 flagship price tag. It's potent enough to run any new apps even though it's not the latest hotness, and the usability features make up for the last year's hardware.

Once it drops to $350-400 in a month or two it'll be a very decent phone (assuming Nexus6 is going to weigh in at 450-500).

it looks nice, it's the 5.2" screen I wanted on the Nexus 5 (so is the LG G2 but that has dead screen problems from flashing), but the battery is no larger.

If I didn't already have a nexus I would consider it

I'm waiting until it's on display at a local store to check it out in person.

Then I'll wait until Black Friday/Cyber Monday where hopefully it might be $150 off.
